Randomly thought of this topic so spitting it out here.
Returning member of the team that contributed last year but I would not be surprised if he put together one hell of a season. Does not mean he will lead the team but just someone that puts together something we didn't really see coming. An example last year could be WR X. Rush having 43 receptions and 5 TDs or even WR W. Van Hooser - only 11 receptions but 5 were TDs at 21.2 yards per reception. Another example is LB Z. Davis. He may have been forced into the action due to the Mackey legal issues but he had a pretty good year.
Offense: WR Marc Edwards. Has the talent, just needs to stay focused on playing/improving as much as he likes to be the chatter box of the group. Made some really nice grabs last year and he should be more consistent this year when given opportunities. Marc does not do anything flashy like Banks or Breaux and Rush had a breakout year last year, that is why he is not being talked about but I have seen enough from him to know he is more than capable of stepping up should he choose to.
Added on edit: Totally forgot about Edwards being out due to significant injury also and working his way back. Thanks W.S.
Defense: DE Royce LaFrance. A couple people could have gone here but if anyone saw Royce as a true FR last year and then you see him today it is not even close. The physical maturity and growth really shows. The kid has the talent, now has the size and most importantly he has that "jerk" in him that you need from defensive lineman. The only thing holding LaFrance back is the man in the mirror. I think the addition of Tyler Gilbert and potential addition of Jeremy Peeples is exactly what was needed to push him. If he can mature into a leader and stay focused he has a chance to be really special. I am going to go a little off topic here but I would not be surprised to see a rotation where LaFrance and Gilbert are on the edge while Warmsley and Davenport line up in the middle. It might be the best DL we could put out there but it might not be the best option in terms of creating the best use of depth for the team.
