"Another look at conference revenue payouts from ncaa tournament units. It's safe to say no one will reach Big East/AAC levels again - they were getting 8-9 teams a year in. But there is no reason the AAC won't be right there with the other conferences on this list. In fact, the AAC earned $17.6 mm in credits this year - right in line with what the ACC paid out this year. Yes, we lose Louisville (3 credits), but Tulsa went to the tourney this year (not counted in AAC credits), Cincy was upset 1st rd, SMU should have gone and is pre-season top 16 in both polls I have seen for next year (Seth Davis and ESPN), Houston just hired Kelvin Sampson, etc. With 11 teams the AAC should be good for $1.5 mm - $2 mm per team per year. Hopefully we can do our part and start adding to these ncaa tournament credits soon. To put in perspective, if CUSA becomes a perennial 1 and done automatic bid league (which it has been most years besides Memphis), they would have 6 credits. At approximately $250k per credit, that's $1.5 mm in annual distributions.
With 14 teams, that's about $100k per team.
$1.5 mm - $2 mm per team or $100k per team??"
